Babylon

“Babylon” was a big bold artistic statement by Paramount and Damien Chazelle that backfired at the box office. It will be interesting to see how the film is evaluated critically in the decades that follow. The Paramount 4K UHD release is demo quality.

Bubba-Ho-Tep

Scream Factory has given Don Coscarelli’s “Bubba-Ho-Tep” a 4K UHD release. It is the only film that features Bruce Campbell as Elvis alongside Ossie Davis as JFK battling a mummy that preys on the elderly.

The Menu

“The Menu” is sharp as a knife. This acidic dark comedy is an excellent satire of haute cuisine and foodie culture. It’s one of the best films of 2022. Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult lead an excellent ensemble cast.

The Lost Boys

“The Lost Boys” is a teenage vampire film from 1987 that still works because of its strong visuals, great cast, and off-beat comedic charms. Warner Bros. UHD release looks and sounds fantastic.
