The cult classic Christmas comedy “Scrooged” starring the fantastic Bill Murray in one of his best roles has been given a wonderful 4K upgrade by Paramount. Highly, highly, recommended!
Le Mépris is one of Godard’s finest works. The film finds Godard working with amazing collaborators (Coutard, Bardot, Piccoli, Delerue) to create a memorable work of art at the peak of his powers. The 4K release is beautiful.
“Dreamin’ Wild” is the type of nice low-key drama about real people that used to be made fairly often. It is elevated by strong performances by Casey Affleck, Walton Goggins, and Beau Bridges.

“American Pop” manages to traverse four generations of history and music in 96 minutes. It’s not perfect, but it is ambitious. Sony has given the film a Blu-ray release.
With “A Moment of Romance” Radiance Films dives into Nineties Hong Kong cinema with Benny Chan’s film that is both a crime story and melodramatic romance. Andy Lau stars in an early role. The tonal changes are interesting, David Dresser’s essay is excellent, and this release comes recommended.
“The Truman Show” has been given a fantastic 4K UHD upgrade to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The film was a great success showcasing Jim Carrey’s dramatic talents and the beautiful scenery of Seaside, Florida.
The wait is finally over! Criterion has given Martin Scorsese’s “After Hours” a definitive 4K UHD release. It’s a strange trip through Soho in New York after midnight in the Eighties. It earns our highest recommendation!
