“Hearts of Darkness” is one of the greatest documentaries about filmmaking (possibly the greatest) ever made. Lionsgate has bravely chosen to release this classic documentary on 4K UHD.
Le Mépris is one of Godard’s finest works. The film finds Godard working with amazing collaborators (Coutard, Bardot, Piccoli, Delerue) to create a memorable work of art at the peak of his powers. The 4K release is beautiful.
In 2018, Luca Guadagnino remade the classic Dario Argento film Suspiria. The resulting film can’t compete with the brilliance of the original, but there is a unique vision presented that will stir debates over the film’s merit. The music by Thom Yorke is exceptional.
Total Recall is one of the most enjoyable and entertaining science fiction films from the Nineties. Director Paul Verhoeven delivered one of his best films featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime. There is a beautifully designed limited edition steelbook worth seeking out.
Dagon is another fun and interesting adaptation of Lovecraft from Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna. Definitely a wild ride.
John Wick returns in this excellent third entry in the series. Some of the most insanely choreographed fight scenes ever put to celluloid and great roles for Mark Dacascos and Halle Berry make this film a winner.
Uncut Gems is the most intense and energetic drama of 2019. Adam Sandler gives one of the best performances of the year.
Rian Johnson’s newest film updates the murder-mystery genre with acidic wit and a stellar cast. Easily one of the best films of 2019.
