Philip Roth considered Larry Peerce’s adaptation of “Goodbye, Columbus” to be the best adaptation of his work. Fun City Editions has done a great job of bringing it to Blu-ray.
“Bringing Out the Dead” is a mesmerizing Martin Scorsese picture featuring great performances by Nicolas Cage, Ving Rhames, Tom Sizemore, and Patricia Arquette. The Paramount 4K is exceptional with a great transfer and Dolby Atmos audio alongside features by Reverend Entertainment.
“Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” is a prequel to Stephen King’s horror classic. Despite some good ideas, the film fails to generate tension or craft compelling characters. Paramount has given the film a good 4K UHD presentation.
“Terms of Endearment,” James L. Brooks’s tearjerker comedy which won five Academy Awards, has been given a 4K UHD upgrade by Paramount Pictures. Shirley MacLaine, Jack Nicholson, and Debra Winger are wonderful in the film.
Paramount Pictures has given the 1997 thriller “Kiss the Girls” a 4K UHD release. Morgan Freeman stars as Dr. Alex Cross from James Patterson’s bestselling novels.
Paramount has given “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” a beautiful 4K UHD steelbook release. It stands as one of the best teen comedies ever made. The film has aged beautifully and deserves a place in your collection.
“The Truman Show” has been given a fantastic 4K UHD upgrade to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The film was a great success showcasing Jim Carrey’s dramatic talents and the beautiful scenery of Seaside, Florida.
“Top Gun: Maverick” gave theatrical audiences a reason to take a breath and eat some popcorn. It is a satisfying sequel and a loving tribute to Tony Scott. “Maverick” is our favorite film from 2022.
