“Terms of Endearment,” James L. Brooks’s tearjerker comedy which won five Academy Awards, has been given a 4K UHD upgrade by Paramount Pictures. Shirley MacLaine, Jack Nicholson, and Debra Winger are wonderful in the film.
Fun City Editions has given the 1971 slice-of-life drama “T.R. Baskin” a Blu-ray release. Directed by Herbert Ross, the film was written and produced by Peter Hyams. The disc features solid technical specs and an excellent interview,
Le Mépris is one of Godard’s finest works. The film finds Godard working with amazing collaborators (Coutard, Bardot, Piccoli, Delerue) to create a memorable work of art at the peak of his powers. The 4K release is beautiful.
“Dreamin’ Wild” is the type of nice low-key drama about real people that used to be made fairly often. It is elevated by strong performances by Casey Affleck, Walton Goggins, and Beau Bridges.
